Tournament Evolution

The Presidents Cup was established in 1994 to provide international team competition outside the Ryder Cup format. Named after the U.S. Presidents and their international counterparts, the tournament was conceived to create regular competition between the world’s best golfers outside the European-American Ryder Cup framework.
